  • Working while Studying

    The information about working on a New Zealand student visa can be confusing. Here's a simplified breakdown:


    Working Hours for International Students:

    ✅ Part-time (up to 25 hours/week): While studying work rights depend on your course (check details for exceptions). This generally applies to courses lasting 2+ years or those leading to qualifications recognised for skilled migration.


    ✅ Full-time (during breaks and Christmas break): Full-time study (1+ year) with courses exceeding 120 credits.

  • Post Study Options

    On May 11, 2022 onwards New Zealand made revisions to its post-study work visa law.The new post-study work visa rules in New Zealand are as follows:


    ✅ All master's degree generally lasting 18 months or 12 months in some cases, offer a 3 years post study work visa. A bachelor's degree also offers a 3 years post study work visa


    ✅ For non degree courses at level 7 or below students in New Zealand aspirants would be eligible for post study work visa if the qualification is relevant to an occupation on the New Zealand Green List.


    The duration of the post study work visa will be equal to the duration of course completed while on New Zealand study visa
